Grooming Gangs National Inquiry

voted AGAINST a national inquiry into child grooming gangs

What this is

Calls for a statutory national inquiry into the police, council and CPS handling of grooming-gang offences continue across the House. The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse made specific recommendations that have not yet been fully implemented.

What changed as a result

No statutory national inquiry has been convened in this Parliament. Specific area inquiries (Rotherham, Telford, Rochdale) have concluded; the question is whether they should be brought together under a single statutory remit.

What to read for

MPs whose constituencies have had cases and whose public statements support an inquiry but who have not voted accordingly.
