A powerful letter from @janetdaby.bsky.social, who is absolutely right to call this out. Deleting a post, but failing to make amends and not even provide an apology is not good enough. I echo Janet's call for Mayor Shrivastava and Lewisham Greens to address this now and restore trust.

This week I spoke at the Crown Prosecution Services' Crown Advocacy conference, highlighting the vital role that Crown Advocates play in delivering justice. I am pleased to see the CPS’ new approach to Crown Advocacy, ensuring more Crown Advocates are available to handle RASSO cases.

Great to meet with Italian politicians from across the political spectrum yesterday in Parliament. Particularly interesting to hear how parties are working across the political divide to tackle violence against women and girls as well as improve opportunities for women.

gov.uk Sexual predator’s sentence increased after Solicitor General intervenes
Adam Leddra, from Fatfield in Washington, had his sentence increased to four years after the Solicitor General Ellie Reeves KC MP referred his case to the Court of Appeal under the Unduly Lenient Sentence scheme. The court heard that Leddra met his victim on social media in June 2012 when she was 15 years old and he was 19. Leddra began grooming the teenager…

Two-Child Benefit Cap Absent / no vote
From today, over 16,000 children across Lewisham and Southwark will be lifted out of poverty. Labour has lifted the two child limit, and with our child poverty strategy, we will go further and lift even more children out of poverty.

NHS Waiting List Targets Absent / no vote
Under Labour, NHS waiting lists continue to fall. Last year in Lewisham they fell by 11% and at King’s by 6%. Ambulance response times are now the fastest they've been for five years, and A&E waits are the shortest for four years. More to do, but Labour is busy fixing our NHS.
